SIGN UP FOR VISITS

Citizens Visitation Program  

Approved and trained volunteers are encouraged to participate in scheduled visits.  If you are interested in volunteering for John Howard Association, please review volunteer information and complete the application process.  Upcoming volunteer training sessions are listed below.

The following schedule lists visits to IDOC and CCDOC correctional facilities during the next several months.  To participate in any of these visits, approved volunteers should complete the information below as soon as possible.

  • Visits to IDOC facilities normally occupy a full day, including travel time. 

  • Visits to downstate youth and adult facilities may involve overnight travel (see visits with asterisks (*) below). 

  • Visits to one division of CCDOC are normally limited to 3-4 hours.

  • Unless otherwise specified, visits to CCDOC facilities begin at 9:30 a.m. at the jail (2700 South California Ave.,  Division V entrance).  Afternoon visits begin at 1:30 p.m.
